There is a little bit of Austria on the via Dolorosa in the heart of the Old City of Jerusalem. The historic Austrian Hospice of the Holy Family is run by Austrian Catholic priests, nuns and a band of volunteer helpers and offers accommodation to those visiting the religious sights of the city.
The single, double and three bed guestrooms all have en suite bathrooms. A hairdryer, safe and telephone are provided in all guestrooms and the centre has a lift to all floors. Inexpensive dormitory accommodation on a share bathroom basis is also available. The centre has been beautifully decorated by Austrian artists and a traditional Viennese café serves serves schnitzel and Sacher Torte and waist-expanding helpings of apfelstrudel.

We are a Baptist minister’s family with 3 children and live here in Rama (on google ‘Rameh’) working for the Baptist Church ministry. Rama is a Christian Arab village and centrally located for visiting historical towns like Akko, Nazareth, Safet, Tiberias and the Golan Heights. It’s only a 30 minute drive to the Sea of Galilee in one direction and 30 minutes to the beaches of the Mediterranean in the other. Our one bedroom, self-contained apartment can sleep up to five guests, is air conditioned and has Wi-Fi (free) access. It is located in the old centre of the village, and bakery and food store is close by. We speak German, English, Arabic and Hebrew. Price: 250.-NIS per night per family (no additional costs, towels and bed linen included)
