Eight of us spent 2 nights here. The church is lovely and the accommodations quite OK. We didn't arrange for any meals but our Italian bus driver knew some very traditional places to eat in the area. An Italian school group was also staying here and the kids had a lot of fun as there is so much for them to do. The grounds are enormous. Glad we stayed here as the Cappuccins were very gracious. Good for groups, but not so much for couples or small numbers of people.
Surrounded by greenery and immersed in the tranquility of a large chestnut forest, in the Lepini Mountains, the convent of San Francesco has been transformed into a welcoming house of hospitality. The convent was constructed between the end of 1550 and is home to a community of Franciscans, who live in communion with each other, participating daily in the Liturgy of the Eucharist and Liturgy of the Hours and carrying out their duties in the house of hospitality.
No meals are provided but guests can make use of a kitchen and outdoor bar-be-que area. The house is well equipped to cater for all weather events and there are endless opportunities for hiking or just strolling and taking in the fresh air.
Pilgrims, travellers and those looking for a quiet place to rest, relax, clear the mind and cleanse the soul will be at home here. Guests are also welcome to join in the spiritual activities of the Franciscans.
