Trish Clark

Trish Clark grew up in Queensland and was educated by the Ursuline nuns of Toowoomba. As a young woman she backpacked around Europe and soon caught the travel bug. For many years she ran a successful travel marketing business in Australia before deciding to turn her attentions to researching and writing travel guidebooks. Trish lives in Sydney with her husband and five children, a much travelled red backpack, a stack of extinct passports and a pair of excellent quality, ever-ready walking boots.

This unique series of travel guidebooks has been researched with the help of friends and fellow travellers as well as members of the Clark clan. Trish is never short of a companion willing to ‘test’ the accommodation in a newly discovered convent or monastery guest house, sightsee, have fun and find inspiration.

Trish is currently researching the third volume of Good Night and God Bless which will cover the convents, abbeys and monasteries of Spain and Germany and some of the smaller European countries. In 2010 this research will include walking the length of the Camino Frances, an ancient 800 kilometre pilgrimage trail from St-Jean Pied de Port at the foot of the Pyrénées in Aquitaine, France to Santiago de Compostela in north-west Spain, staying in convents and monasteries along the way.
