A lively capital with a lively history, Havana's UNESCO listed old town is steeped in atmosphere and filled with memorable sights, including the Catedral de San Cristóbel. Popes John and Francis celebrated Masses in Revolution Square, from where Fidel Castro was farewelled after his death. With immensely walkable streets, much of the city has been restored to its former glory. Occupied by a friendly, laid-back people who love music, dancing, a nip of rum and the odd cigar, Havana is becoming a booming tourist destination.
