Well worth the stay for the absolute peace and tranquility and for the amazing views. The staff were very kind. I would like to visit again some day.
Interesting set-up. Spiritual place, epic mountain landscapes and scenic walking tracks. Nice food and even a 'street' market. Accommodation was fine. Not luxurious but adequate.
Ceranesi is a small hamlet on the peak of Monte Figogna (800 m) and dedicated to the Santuario di Nostra Signora della Guardia (Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Guard), the Patron of Genoa and the most important Marian Shrine in Liguria. Qvernight and day visitors are welcome and there is much to see. A museum details the history of the sanctuary and the miracles which have occurred and the magnificent church is a gem of artistic treasures.
The sanctuary and the Casa del Pellegrino are managed by the local Catholic Diocese of Genoa and are located 10 km from the town of Bolzaneto from where taxis and buses are available for the journey up the mountain. Pilgrims, holiday makers, groups and the curious are welcome to overnight at the guest house and two large public restaurants cater for all meals.
Numerous guest rooms are available and all have ensuite facilities. The views from the mountain can only be described as 'panoramic'.
