Follow in the footsteps of Mozart and explorer Christopher Columbus and eat at the world's oldest restaurant, the Stiftskeller St Peter, first mentioned in manuscripts around the year 803. The original dining area occupies the vaulted cellar of a medieval monastery and numerous other dining areas are attached to provide enough seating for over 600 guests. The restaurant is a two minute walk from Haus St. Benedikt.
The house where composer Mozart was born and the magnificent Salzburg Cathedral (Salzburger Dom), are only steps away. The Dom was the Mozart Family's local church and where Wolfgang was Christened and later played.
There are no parking spaces at Haus St. Benedikt. However, guests are advised to park in the public carpark at the Mönchsberggarage at Hildmannplatz 1, and use 'Parkhaus B'. Walk to the exit marked 'Festival Hall' which leads to the guesthouse. Discounted parking vouchers are available at reception. The monastery and guesthouse are adjacent to the Toscaninhof Square from where there is an exit to the festival district and to the Old Town.
Haus St. Benedikt is in a spacious wing of a fully functioning monastery of the Austrian Benedictine Congregation, and is easily recognised by two large, cross-shaped fresco featured on the facade. The guesthouse is a well-priced and comfortable option, handily located in Salzburg's historic Old Town, and close to numerous restaurants, coffee houses, shops and tourist attractions. The monastery and the adjacent religious buildings, including Salzburg’s magnificent Cathedral are in the oldest quarter of Salzburg.

Guests have afree ccess to Wi-Fi throughout the complex. A substantial breakfast is included in the room price along with Salzburg’s government imposed tourist tax.
