We loved this sacred place so much that we vow to visit again in the near future. The singing during Mass was inspirational and the whole mountain settlement is a place of great beauty. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the food is very good. However, there were other choices of eating places. too. We hiked, we brought souvenirs at the market and we soaked up the view and the atmosphere of a holy mountain. A truly special destination.
What a wonderful and spiritual place. I return home much fitter (some of those mountain walks are tough), but well rested and contented after a wondrous stay. The apartments are very well-fitted out and the staff attend to every need. Would like to stay on the mountain forever.
Such a peaceful place when the tourists depart in the afternoon. Homely and comfortable apartments - not 5-star - but ideal for family. Had everything we needed and to cap it off we were in the the most stunningly beautiful part of the world. Great memories...
This iconic Benedictine Abbey of Montserrat is surrounded by a vast, natural reserve and unusual rock formations. The views across Catalonia can only be described as 'spectacular. Even though the monastery is situated high in the clouds, there is much to see and do here. So much so that an overnight stay is well worth considering - even for the sunrise!
