This was a fabulous place to stay in Rome. Very convenient for everything I wanted to visit and a peaceful oasis to return to each day. I would happily stay again

What a lovely place to stay, especially for someone traveling alone. The room was simple but clean and perfectly comfortable, the bathroom modern. There are early morning squawking seagulls and then the nuns soft chanting from the chapel. Great location too!

I can only agree with the other reviewers. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the premises is magnificently located in central Rome. Restaurants and cafes are nearby and there are some lovely shops in the street. The sisters and lay staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Just the perfect place to spend a holiday. We had some memorable true 'Roman' experiences. Hope we will be back one day.

Can't beat the location in one of Rome's nicest streets. Spanish Steps at the top of the street, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon all within close walking distance. The nuns are kind and the reception staff very helpful.

This is a most pleasant place to stay when visiting Rome. The rooms are clean, the sisters and lay staff friendly and caring and the location is truly superb. We browsed in all the shops in the Via Sistina and ended up with a 'local' cafe when we needed a coffee. We walked to the historical tourist sights, and when we needed a day in the countryside we jumped on the Metro train at the bottom of the street to travel to Termini Station and onwards. Now that we are back home we miss being woken up each day by the sound of the sisters singing during Mass - beats an alarm clock any day!

Casa per Ferie Istituto Immacolata Concezione N.S. di Lourdes
00187 - Rome RM

Located in an enviable position near the top of the Spanish Steps and close to the the bustling Piazza Barberini, Casa Nostra Signora di Lourdes lies in an elegant street lined with upmarket shops, cafes and theatres. The convent, a former palace, is within close walking distance of the upscale restaurants along the via Veneto and the chic boutiques strung along both sides of the Via Sistina.

The guesthouse must be one of the longest operating convent guest houses in Rome, as the Lourdes Sisters have been offering hospitality to tourists and travellers for more than 50 years. Former nuns 'cells' have been upgraded and en-suite bathrooms have been added to most of the guest rooms. Wake to the mellow tones of the nuns singing hymns during morning Mass and enjoy a convivial breakfast with travellers from all over the world. Please note "Gluten Free" breakfasts are not served due to a liability issue. However, guests can provide for themselves if they wish, and use a refrigerator made available on each floor to store food.

The house opens every day at 06.00 and closes at 23.00 in the evening, from November 1st to March 31st inclusive. From 1 April to 31 October inclusive, the house closes at 11.30 in the evening.
