Maynooth's historical south campus dates back to 1795 and guests can take advantage of staying at the home of the National Seminary of Ireland. We have 72 bedrooms all year round. We are delighted to offer groups a full dining service in the wonderful surroundings of Pugin Hall. Maynooth has the largest stalled chapel in the world on the campus on the south campus and guided Visit Maynooth tours can be pre-booked for groups. During the summer months we have over 1300 beds as our apartments become available on the north campus. Maynooth is a convenient location to explore the city of Dublin and beyond, with excellent bus, road and rail links to Dublin city. Maynooth lies on the Royal Canal, a former freight and passenger route (145 km) which is undergoing restoration. Barge cruises operate along the canal. The Royal Canal Way follows along the banks of the canal and cycling or walking along the grassy tow paths and side roads is a favourite pastime of many of the locals.
As Maynooth is a university town, there are fast and reliable public transport connections to Dublin City. Regular train services travel from Maynooth Station to Pearse Station, Tara Street Station, Connolly Station and Docklands, in Dublin. The journey to Dublin takes approximately 30 minutes and departures are every half an hour. Bus services regularly depart Maynooth for Dublin and vice versa. Buses 66 and 67 depart from Merrion Square in Dublin city centre. The College Chapel is the most important building on the Seminary Campus and was constructed between 1875 and 1891 in the neo-Gothic style. Over 11,000 priests have been ordained at Maynooth since its founding.
Wonderful and helpful staff. Family issues created complication with my schedule- but staff we completely helpful in rescheduling as per my needs!
The grounds were amazing as was the view from my window. Breakfast and staff were great and the dining hall was like something out of Harry Potter. The walls were a little thin for those who like to sleep rather than play through the night. ;)
My stay was outstanding! The facility is beautiful and clean, and the people who work at the desk are enormously helpful.
Beautiful, stately buildings and lots of green spacious. Short stroll to the centre of the little village and to the train station. Rooms are thoughtfully furnished and the staff are amazing. Loved it.
This is a very large complex and there are various room types to choose from. We had a double room which overlooked the manicured grounds and were very happy with it - had everything we needed. It was a pleasure to wander through the magnificent grounds, past the old castle and in to the little town for a pub meal in the evening. The staff were most efficient and being able to escape the hurleyburley of Dublin on a scenic, 20 minute train ride suited us down to the ground. We enjoyed our time here very, very much.
The historic campus at Maynooth dates back to 1795 and is home to St Patrick’s College and Maynooth University. During the academic year 65 rooms are available, rising to 1,300 in the summer months.
