The guest front bed rooms are large and airy and have the best views imaginable. It was very clean. It would be friendlier to provide free tea and coffee as part of customer service rather than charge a coffee shop rate. I didn’t like being asked for a donation after paying 50 US in order to book on the website as a donation to help refugees (ok) and paying for the cost of the room. I recommend this lovely guest house but we were not received with warmth.
We didn't realise the hotel was part of a seminary. We were only made aware of this over breakfast, when we asked our 'waiter' where he lived. He said he was doing religious training at the adjacent seminary and lived-in. However, religion is certainly not preached to the guests. We were mesmerised by the magical views over Lake Thun and the snow-capped Alps. We went on mountain walks. and traveled by bus down to Interlaken, where there were many shops and cafes. Bus tours of this beautiful area were available here. Only wish we could have stayed here longer as there was so much to see. Hopefully we will get back to Beatenberg one day. And the waiters were wonderful, by the way.
There can't be a better view in the whole of Switzerland. Amazing lake and mountain vistas. Helpful and friendly staff. If you don't like the views, the peace and the tranquility you can always take the bus down to Interlaken for a bit of retail therapy.

We should have stayed longer. Views are amazing. So much to do in the area if you love exercise. Had time for some mountain walks. Food is well prepared and delicious.
