I enjoyed my four night stay at St Monica house. A warm welcome from the sisters and a clean comfortable room for a very reasonable rate. I hope to return.
I received a warm welcome at St Monica’s. I was travelling on my own and I appreciated the opportunity to chat with others in the shared kitchen and lounge. My room was comfortable with a single bed and ensuite and the light, self serve breakfast, more than sufficient. I joined the Sisters for Mass and again was made to feel very welcome. I’d love to stay again. The location is great and transport nearby make St Monica’s very accessible.
We stayed as a family of eight for 4 nights and felt very welcomed and comfortable. At the end of each busy day our rooms and the common lounge room were a welcomed time to relax and rest. We were also very thankful for the help received in arranging transport (taxi) to the airport on our departure.
St. Monica House is a wonderful place to stay while in London. Comfortable, quiet, clean, safe, friendly, welcoming and conveniently located are all words I would use to describe it. The sisters are so lovely. It was a blessing to have stayed there. Thank-you!
Excellent. Everyone is very welcoming. , Spotless , and in every way suited our needs. Sister Nancy is mist hospitable, Kevin very knowledgeable, and the facility although older has a homely vibe that welcomes you home each day for comfort and clam after a long outing. We look forward to our new London home away from Home. Transportation was very convenient. Thank you for the recommendation.
Unfortunately we were unable to stay at St Monica's due to having to undergo open heart surgery. We were very impressed at how speedy the admin team were in refunding our booking deposit. We will definitely be making a booking to stay at St Monica's when we travel in 2024
Very nice and friendly. The rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. Convenient location and good price. However no air conditioning and the 3rd floor was too hot to sleep during the 30 degree celcius weather.
I will definitely be back. Place was spotlessly clean, the Nuns were very accommodating, The energy was peaceful and quiet. Food was standard, just wish you could offer a full English/Continental breakfast. Overall it was worth every penny. Bless you Sisters.
I really appreciated my time at St Monica House. Accomodations are comfortable and sisters and staff are kind. People can have a peaceful and relaxing time in this house.
I was unable to stay at St Monica House on this occasion. They were very accommodating with my cancellation. I intend to stay when next I visit London as I enjoy staying with religious orders, knowing my payment will be used towards assisting others.
The sisters are kind and welcoming. Clean rooms. WiFi available. Continental breakfast is provided. Commuting was very easy. Bus stop in front of the door and metro station very close. Would recommend. Food markets and shopping places were close. Would recommend.
I loved staying at St Monica's. The nuns were lovely and the other guests were friendly and fun. It wasn't luxury, but very convenient to the city sights.
As a lone traveller, it was lovely each day to go back to St Monica's and find a friendly community to share something of my day. My accommodation had everything I needed and the location was close to a range of public transport that made getting around quite easy. As a Catholic it was a gift to be able to start the day with mass in the morning at my choosing. It was reassuring to know that I had people who could tell me where the post office was, which bus to catch and keep me informed on life in the world as I enjoyed the sights of London. Thank you to all at St Monica's.
Great stay. Shared bathroom but comfy single room. Very convenient location quite near the Oval Metro. In the parallel road quite a few places to eat or takeaway..good breackfast included I will come back when in London
Everything perfect. Sister Nancy was kind as a relative. See you soon!
What a wonderful stay we had. So close to everything with great hosts. Room was spotlessly clean and we had access to everything we needed. Nothing was a problem when we asked. Thank you to all at St Monica House.
We enjoyed our stay at St Monicas. Good location, value for money and would stay there again. Thank you Sister Nancy.
Lovely welcome from the sisters. Note that Good Night and God Bless charge a booking fee on top of the advertised overnight rate.
From Good Night and God Bless.
Thank you for your review, Margaret.
And yes, our company offers a service to travellers, for which we charge a 15% fee, based on a property's overnight rate, and up to and no more than $50.00 USD. This is clearly explained on the booking form BEFORE a traveller commits to a booking request, and provides an opportunity to opt out. For your most recent request you were charged $12.48.
Loved staying at St Monica's House. So convenient, peaceful and friendly
I recently stayed at St Monica House in London for a few nights. I was very pleased with my stay and was grateful to feel like I was part of a community when I returned “home” after a long day of sightseeing! I loved having access to a fridge and being able to prepare food and I always had delightful individuals to share my experiences with in the guest lounge area. My room was simple but perfectly adequate and extremely well kept. As a female solo traveller, I loved having a “home” to come to at the end of the day! Thank you Sister Nancy and Kevin for welcoming me so! God bless.
Our time in London at St Monica House was a wonderful experience for us. Although our room was quite basic, our needs were more than met with use of a kitchen, living space and a back yard! Our room was well heated, and although we did not have a shower, the bathroom was more than adequate. The continental breakfast kept us well nourished and was ample for our touristing adventures around London and surrounds. The position of St Monica House was superb, close to the underground and a bus stop was right outside the front gate! Lastly and most importantly, the staff at St Monica House were exceptional. We were treated with the utmost respect and kindness. One thing we’ll always remember and never forget. Our resident ‘travel guru’ at St Monica House, Kevin, was absolutely wonderful. His knowledge of London and his ability to impart this to us really was a highlight of our stay. Sister Nancy, so very thoughtful, caring and considerate. Thank you for an amazing stay Sister Nancy.
We very much enjoyed our stay with the lovely people of St Monica's
Very good! Sister Nancy is amazing! I spent wonderful days
WONDERFUL! a great welcome, a simple but comfortable room, en suite. Breakfast was adequate; lovely to be able to come and go as one pleased and a little kitchen where I could make a hot bedtime drink too. Outside the city centre but short walk from Oval tube which was minutes from Leicester Square. and so reasonanle in price!
Always my favorite place to stay; extremely clean, quiet but friendly. Location very convenient to bus, and Tube.
Ideal for a short stay. People helpful and friendly. Excellent, quiet location. Good access to public transport.
I enjoyed my stay at St Monica House. There is a nice homely atmosphere and it is lovely to be able to join the nuns for prayer each day. Access to a garden is a bonus.
I spent two great nights at St Monica House on my recent trip to the UK. Very close to underground and buses and lovely Kennington Park to relax in. Sisters were very warm and welcoming and I loved the ability to make a cup of tea and talk to other residents staying there!
Super clean and handy to public transport, I enjoyed my time at St Monicas and would definitely stay here again. The prices are such good value for accommodation in an otherwise expensive city, and a friendly, happy atmosphere prevails. Full marks!!!
Fabulous experience in every way.
We stayed 2 nights and were very happy with the accommodation. Handy to public transport options, clean and well managed by the sisters. A great price as well. Will definitely stay again.
I enjoyed our stay in St Monica house. I thought it will be too hot being summer but the breeze coming to the window was enough for a good night sleep. Breakfast was sufficient and location unbeatable.
A warm reception is guaranteed when staying at St Monica House. A peaceful and friendly home away from home, the guest house is managed by Augustinian Sisters (Servants of Jesus and Mary) who live in the convent next door. The sisters welcome travellers visiting London to overnight at their well located and peaceful house of hospitality, while taking in the sights of the city.
Compared to similar properties in this expensive capital, the room rates at St Monica House are good value for money..
Guests are invited to share the Eucharistic Liturgy with the community if they so wish. A good number of guests find a stay at St Monica House offers a means of spiritual renewal and others enjoy the relaxed, friendly environment as they enjoy all that London has to offer. As well as managing the guest house the sisters work directly with the local Portuguese and Filipino communities.
'Welcoming and offering hospitality are an essential part of being a community of Augustinians in service, in imitation of God who gives himself and welcomes us in Jesus Christ with an unconditional love.' (Constitutions 134)
