Quiet, with a definitely relaxed vibe. What a shame it is not open all year round. Would stay here again and again.
The Kolbe House Catholic Chaplaincy is attached to the University of Cape Town and opens its doors to the travelling public during the December/January UCT vacation period. During this time Kolbe House is transformed into a holiday home for people looking for a reasonably priced, safe, clean and well-located accommodation. Families with children are welcome as well as the general traveller. No meals are available as Kolbe House is a self-catering facility.
The facility is situated on a large, attractive estate in suburban Rondebosch, nestled under the towering Devil's Peak section of Table Mountain. Accommodation is offered on a self-catering, share bathroom basis with two guest rooms fitted with en-suite facilities. Kolbe House is very clean residence with an and extremely tranquil atmosphere. Secure car parking is available on the property. Unfortunately tourist accommodation is only available during December and January.
The property lies in spacious gardens and it is a short 80 m walk to supermarkets, shops and restaurants. A laundry with coin operated washing machine a dryer is available for the use of guests.
