This is a very quiet and peaceful place to stay, and away from the busy town. The nuns are very kind and the food is really excellent. The rooms are more than adequate and the villa is fresh and clean. Took no time to drive to the Basilica. We definitely recommend a stay here for anyone visiting Assisi.
A joy to be in Assisi and the villa is an excellent base for exploring the town and nearby attractions, conveniently located about 10 minutes from the centre of Assisi. Its a harmonious house run by super friendly people and comfortable and clean.
The Franciscan spirit of hospitality, as practised by St Francis and St Clare is alive and well at the Villa Santa Tecla. Located in rolling hills and farmland, on the edge of the little agricultural village of Petrignano, the rural ambience and the polite and friendly staff add up to an oasis of peace and serenity. The property is a 6 minutes drive from Assisi.
The guesthouse/hotel is owned by the local Catholic Diocese and there is room here for everyone - believers, non-believers, individual travellers, tourists, families, pilgrims, groups - all are welcome. All guestrooms are ensuite and all meals are available. Wi-Fi is fitted throughout and facilities include a TV room, bar, elevator, chapel, conference rooms and free on-site parking.
After a busy day exploring the Basilica, churches, museums and ancient structures it is a blessing to come home and slow down in a clean and quiet environment, relax in safe and secure surroundings and maybe watch the sun go down.
